Welcome to Alvina's Farm, a family-owned artisan shop where we take pride in giving new life to forgotten textiles. Our handcrafted items bring the charm and warmth of the farm to your home, while also being mindful of our impact on the environment. Thank you for joining us on this journey towards sustainability.
The Why
At Alvina's Farm we are committed to reducing the negative impacts of fast fashion by keeping textiles out of landfills. We believe in the beauty of natural fabrics that not only look good but also feel good. By embracing upcycled materials, we can reuse fabrics while staying on-trend. Join us in making a difference—every small effort counts!
The Who
Dawn's passion for fashion ignited in her childhood, thanks to a neighbor who taught her the art of sewing. After earning a degree in fashion design, she embraced motherhood but continued to nurture her love for the craft, passing it on to her daughter, Olivia. Olivia's creativity blossomed as she crafted personal, handmade gifts for her family, eventually selling her creations at the Rose Bowl Flea Market and to boutiques from Claremont to Melrose to Silverlake. After earning an Art Degree from UC Irvine, she honed her skills in graphic design, all while dreaming of a life on a farm with her husband.
Olivia and her husband, Sage, turned their dream into reality by leaving the bustling life of California for the serene beauty of New England's "The Last Green Valley." Embracing a lifestyle centered around growing food and raising miniature dairy goats, they also care for chickens, ducks, dogs, and a charming barn cat. Dawn joined her daughter in this new adventure, and together they combined their love for crafting and upcycling textiles to create their small business, Alvina's Farm. Their journey reflects a deep commitment to sustainability and creativity, bringing joy to their community through their unique offerings.
